The German Team Teufelsberg reached out to us after switching their setups to the X-Fusion Vengeance 38 HLR. They were looking for a dedicated fender, and we figured—why not? It was a great opportunity to add a new brand to our lineup and tackle the engineering of this specific fork model.
The design process wasn’t as smooth as we hoped, mostly due to a tech upgrade. We were in the middle of switching to a newer version of our 3D scanner, and calibrating it for the X-Fusion geometry took much longer than expected. After several attempts and a few tweaks to the setup, we finally captured the perfect model and got to work.
For the Teufelsberg riders, we created a custom version featuring their team logo. The version hitting the store is, of course, the “clean” one, but technically it’s the exact same design that is currently undergoing its baptism of fire.
The most interesting part of this project is the mounting system. We implemented a solution featured in the latest flagship forks from giants like Fox and RockShox. By utilizing the bleed valve holes on the lower legs, we moved from a standard two-bolt setup to a 4-bolt system.
For us, this is the ultimate testing ground. While on paper everything looks solid, Team Teufelsberg has just received their units and is starting to push them to the limit in real-world racing conditions. We want to see how this mounting holds up under extreme loads—will it handle the vibrations? Will the screws stay intact? This feedback is priceless and will allow us to refine this mounting method for other flagship fork models on the market.
