In November 2025, we launched our first carbon fiber mudguard in the Universal size. The reception was great, and the interest was strong enough that riders almost immediately started asking for a shorter variant. It came down to length, a more compact profile, and overall aesthetics, as many riders simply prefer a shorter, more minimalist guard that matches their bike’s silhouette. The decision was straightforward: we started developing the Racing version.

From Sketch to Final Product

Work began a few months after the Universal release. While designing the geometry for a shorter guard did not take much time, creating the mold and perfecting a repeatable carbon production process was a completely different challenge. Working with composites demands immense precision and is a process we are constantly refining. That said, we reached the point where the quality fully meets our standards, and we can officially announce that the carbon mudguard in the Racing size is now available in our store.

The Mounting System

Another technical detail worth noting is the structural durability. Theoretically, the Racing size should handle rock strikes and crashes even better. With the shorter rear section, there is less leverage acting on the structure, translating to greater mechanical resilience. We also carried over the same proven safety mechanism to the Racing version. During heavy impacts or hard crashes, the plastic mounts are designed to break away in a controlled manner. They act as a fuse, absorbing the impact energy to protect the carbon shell from damage and keep the rider safe.

Fork Compatibility

The first fork we developed this model for is the older generation RockShox ZEB. The reason is simple: we have this fork on hand in-house, making it straightforward to pull measurements and build the mold. Expanding our carbon lineup remains a top priority, and we are working to quickly roll out variants for the other forks currently supported by the Universal size. Options for the Fox 38 and Öhlins RXF 38 will be available within the next few days, with more models joining the lineup consistently in the coming weeks and months.

There is also good news for owners of the newest RockShox ZEB B1. The Universal size was simply too wide for this fork, so we designed the dimensions of the Racing carbon shell specifically to fit it as well. That variant should join the store in a few weeks.
